About the Course

The farming communities especially the smallholder farmers have been struggling in ensuring livelihood security due to multiple problems. The Central and State Governments, CSRs, NGOs and other agencies have taken up the initiative of promoting large number of Farmers’ Producer Organisations (FPOs) to address the problems of farming communities as well as engaging them into value added production so as to get benefits from globalization of local economies. The professionals engaged in FPO management need adequate capacities on FPOs and undertaking agri-business activities, resource management and building linkages with market and other players. The development of Massive Open Online Course on FPOs (FPO-MOOC) is an attempt towards capacity-building of CEO and/or managers of FPOs.

Each module is divided in several relevant sessions from learning point of view.

Objective of the Course

The objective of the course is to build a perspective of CEOs and/or Managers of FPOs on concepts and governance of FPOs. In addition to this, the course aims to build their capacities in planning and management of agri-business activities. This is for addressing the problem of member farmers.

Who is this course for?

The course is primarily designed for CEOs and/or managers of FPOs. However, other professionals who are working with FPOs can also attend the course.

Learning outcomes

The major learning outcomes of the FPO-MOOC are as follows.

  • The participants will be able to build a perspective on the concept of governance of FPOs both Producer Company and Cooperative Society.
  • S/he will able to understand the legal and statutory compliances to be followed by both the forms of FPO.
  • S/he will build a perspective on various types of resources required for agri-business of FPO and available avenues for resource mobilisation.
  • S/he will be able to prepare a Business Model and Plan for FPO agri-business and finally,
  • S/he will be able to understand the marketing process and prepare a marketing plan for FPO agri-business.

Duration

The approximate duration of the entire course is 5 hours. However, completion of the course will depend upon the delivery design of the course set by the Course Instructor.

For attending the course, the participant has to register online. After completion of each module, the participant has to attend the Module Test. The score of all six Module Tests will appear in participant’s dashboard.Based on the learning and performance of the participant in the tests, s/he will get Certificate of participation in the E-learning Course.

कृषक समुदाय और खासकर छोटे व मझोले किसान विभिन्न समस्याओं की वजह से अपनी आजीविका की सुरक्षा के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे हैं I केंद्र व राज्य सरकारों, कॉर्पोरेट, एनजीओ तथा अन्य एजेंसियों द्वारा बड़ी संख्या में किसान उत्पादक संगठन (एफपीओ) बनाने की पहल की गयी है ताकि एक तरफ किसानों की समस्याओं का निदान किया जा सके और साथ ही साथ उन्हें वैश्वीकरण से उत्पन्न अवसरों का लाभ लेने के लिए मूल्य संवर्धित कृषि उत्पादों के उत्पादन में लगाया जा सके, जिससे कि किसानों की आय में वृद्धि हो सके I पेशेवर लोग जो कि एफपीओ के संचालन में लगे हुये हैं, उनका एफपीओ, कृषि-व्यवसाय, संसाधनों के प्रबन्धन और बाज़ार तथा अन्य संस्थाओं के साथ जुड़ाव आदि विषयों पर उचित क्षमता विकास की आवश्यकता हैं I इस ऑनलाइन कोर्स का विकास एफपीओ के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी और/अथवा प्रबंधकों की क्षमता विकास हेतु किया गया हैं I

पाठ्यक्रम का उद्देश्य

इस पाठ्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य, एफपीओ के सीईओ और प्रबंधकों का एफपीओ की अवधारणा व अभिशासन, उनके प्रबन्धन और कृषि-व्यावसायिक गतिविधियों के नियोजन तथा क्रियान्वन पर उनकी क्षमताओं का विकास करना है। यह सदस्य किसानों की समस्याओं को दूर करने के लिए है।

इस पाठ्यक्रम के लिए किसे भाग लेना चाहिए

यह पाठ्यक्रम एफपीओ के सीईओ और प्रबन्धकों की क्षमता विकास को ध्यान में रखकर बनाया गया है I हालाँकि, इस पाठ्यक्रम में अन्य प्रोफेशनल जो कि एफपीओ के साथ काम कर रहे हैं या उनका विकास कर रहे हैं, वे भी भाग ले सकते हैं I

पाठ्यक्रम से प्रमुख सीखें

एफपीओ – पाठ्यक्रम से प्राप्त होने वाली प्रमुख सीखें इस प्रकार होगी –

पाठ्यक्रम का समय

इस पाठ्यक्रम के विभिन्न सत्रों की कुल लंबाई करीब ५ घंटे की हैं I हालाँकि, इस पाठ्यक्रम को पूरा करने में लगने वाला समय, सहजकर्ता की पाठ्यक्रम के संचालन की योजना पर निर्भर रहेगा I
